LAB: Stub Areas

He're you'll be configuring and troubleshooting stub areas.

  1. How many LSAs of each type are in the of 0.0.0.1, 0.0.0.2 or 0.0.0.3 for which your router is serving as an ABR?
  2. Configure areas 0.0.0.1, 0.0.0.2 and 0.0.0.3 as a stub area
  3. Inject a default route with a metric of 1000 into each stub area from the ABRs
  4. Ensure that you can reach the loopback addresses of R1 through R11 from every router on the network
  5. From one of the routers internal to areas 0.0.0.1, 0.0.0.2 or 0.0.0.3 check the LSDB
  6. If there are any External LSAs, why is that?
  7. How many LSAs of each type are in the of 0.0.0.1, 0.0.0.2 or 0.0.0.3 for which your router is serving as an ABR?
  8. From one of the routers internal to areas 0.0.0.1, 0.0.0.2 or 0.0.0.3 check the routing table
  9. Are any of the LSAs for the following external routes present 3.3.3.0/24, 4.4.4.0/24, 5.5.5.0/24, 7.7.7.0/24, 11.11.11.0/24, 12.12.12.0/24?
  10. Make sure all of the routers are properly configured up to this point before proceeding.

  11. Eliminate as many Type 3 LSAs as possible from areas 0.0.0.1, 0.0.0.2 or 0.0.0.3
  12. How many LSAs of each type are in the of 0.0.0.1, 0.0.0.2 or 0.0.0.3 for which your router is serving as an ABR?
